As my current standard gearknob has a tendency to slip off atm and im just not getting on with the feel of it

In my old fiesta I used to have a aftermarket 8 ball gear knob which was awesome, but i cannot find any push fit pool ball gear knobs or any other styles for the push fit design? So if anyone knows of any different styles or knows of way to modify a pool ball gear knob to fit the pushfit design ? It would be much appreciated !

Hi Guys,

Since I got my car two months ago, so far I have gotten a new fuel, oil & air filter... Gallon of Mobil Esp Forumal, and a set of platnuim spark plugs...

The car is going and feeling rock solid :broon:

However, when I open the expansion tank, the level looks ok, but... it looks like it is just plain water. Also, there is a lot of what looks like a rusty colour debris clinging to the inside of the bottle, even up the neck... When you run your finger around the inside lid, your finger is covered in this stuff...

Strange thing is the actual "plain" water in the bottle looks very clear. I posted thread a week ago about thte colour of the bottle and how I couldn't see the level. Well, its looks like

1. its cause there is just plain water in there (i think)
2. the inside of the bottle is covered in that debris

Should this cause me alarm?
is plain water ok in there?
how will I get the bottle clean of debris?
would there be debris in the rest of the system?

Thanks guys, just a little worried :(

Oh I should also mention, no matter what way I drive, the water temp guage goes up to just under half way and stays there no matter what!!

I bought a spares or repair MG ZS recently as the owner suspected the "They all do that" CHG failure. Nothing wrong with the CHG. Coolant loss due to ... surprise, surprise.... a worn Water Pump. Delighted with the car.
I shall be watching the bidding on this "Truro" car closely.

In the past seven years, I've bought two Rovers out of the remote depths of Cornwall. Collection from that part of the country puts folks off bidding. Not me, the two Rovers I bought and collected from Cornwall were both bargains. Bidding a fraction of what the car would realise if on offer in the Midlands or South East back then.

I have enquired about AA cover and it will cost £150 a year for 02 130K mile CDT. The fan is the old 3 speed fan and broke, I was wondering if on a hot day I could sit on the road with A/C get temperature high, to prove fan wont kick in and the car is undrivable and get the AA out, would fan cost and replacement be covered by AA?

Also same situation with clutch, currently on 130K and will obviously fail soon. The trouble is the Slave is mechanical and should be covered, but the clutch plate is a friction surface and will be wear and tear and might not be covered.

If, big if I could get them to pay up to £500 for clutch repair and a seperate claim for fan it would be good value for money, however if I take it out and they wriggle out of clutch saying it is wear and tear and refuse to do fan as the car is able to carry on its journey its pointless and I may as well just start saving for clutch job.

I was wondering if anyone else has had there fan replaced and clutch cost contributed to under this policy.

Hello,

I've decided to register after several readings of this excellent MG-Rover site:
first, I must tell you I'm french, so, my english may not be as good as you could expect, I'm sorry for that, I'll do my best to be understood and readable.
My car is a Rover 75 Tourer CDT 2003(easy to guess seeing my username), a loved car with many qualities, and faults too, I must admit.
Yet, she remains the best ever owned, very confortable, and now really reliable after some basic upgrades and modifications on the engine and electricity.
Here, frenchs speak about an extra power electronic unit called Synergy II wich is suposed to increase performances in terms of torque gain, power, fuel saving.
I don't really care about the power (I'm a cool driver, you have to be with cops and radars here!), but a little more torque and fuel saving are what I'm interested in: the box seems to have good feedbacks in France and I wonder if some of you ever fitted some in cars, for what results.
If you have links in relation with, I'm interested in.
Thank you to all,

Fabrice

Here's the scenario...

I am the registered keeper of the car and the main driver. My soon to be wife is a named driver of my policy and drives occasionally. Because she's a named driver she's not got any NCB, whereas I have 8 years worth.

We're thinking that it might be a good idea for her to build up some of her own NCB by making her the main driver on the policy with me as the named driver. I've got to 8 years so really any discount for me beyond now is likely to be negligible, but if at some point she needs her own car it would be more beneficial to her to have built up some NCB before taking out her own policy

It's likely to cost us more doing it this way with her as main driver and me as a named driver. I realise that if we did this as a way of saving money on the insurance it would be fronting, but if we are doing it and knowingly paying more, would that technically be classed as fronting?

Advice from the guys in the know would be much appreciated

If i can see leaking coolant stains from the left side of the IMG, and on the basis that i have had the HG done on my car with no mayo what so ever showing.

Is it possible that a leaky IMG would cause a bit more of a steamier exhaust than normal?
